Easter!!!

Hi Everybody!

Now that Easter is well over, and the girls are back in school from spring break, and nobody is sick, I actually have a few minutes to sit and think!

Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny started a tradition a few years ago of bringing fruit baskets more than candy baskets! It's not good when he leaves you the bill for $100 worth of chocolate, and candy! Don't worry...Mr. Easter Bunny makes sure that there is still a little something sweet in the baskets too...just no nearly as much although you couldn't tell by looking at the pictures!!! :D

But I'm jumping ahead of myself! We usually color eggs with the kids, and this year was NO exception! However, with 4 kids and 2 adults....that's quite a bit of eggs for coloring! (I really DON'T like egg salad all that much either!) We limited the girls to 3 eggs each, and Mike and I did 2 each. The girls had a lot of fun discovering what the colors can do when mixed.

It was really fun seeing the different techniques that went into these colorful creations too!

Marley did some double dipping, speckling, and finger dipping ;)

Kaleigh was all about the multi-dipping adding speckling to everything including her fingers!

Merryetta had her eggs dipped, double dipped, and speckled...just when you thought she couldn't possibly do anything else to them...she thought of something!

Mommy and Emalee kept them light and pastel by drizzling the dye over the eggs in random directions. Daddy got out the oil at the very last minute and introduced the speckling technique. Emalee didn't get to do a whole lot this year, but she sure had fun watching!!!

We never do anything with the eggs but color them...Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny just don't look in the fridge when they come leave us treats! Oh well...at least I don't lose any around the house and find them weeks later with a nasty smell!!! :D

We hope you guys all had a fun Easter. We thought of you! And from what I've seen your easter egg hunts were tons of fun! That's one thing we don't do out here is an actual hunt! Too many bugs to have to worry about out here! Oh well...

Hoppy Easter!! Hoppy Spring!!!

What a marvelous idea! We may just have to follow in your healthy, fruit-filled-basket footsteps!
It looks like you had a lot of fun coloring eggs. All that talk about double-dipping worries me though. I hope that doesn't also apply to how the girls eat chips and dip......

we love you!

They had tons of fun taking their eggs from one color to the next until it pretty much looked like mud!
No worries about double dipping their food! They all watch dips like hawks to make sure there is NO double dipping! :)
have a great one!
