The 1st Day of Kindergarten...

Chester is nervous about starting school and after his mother explains all the fun things he will do in school he is still reluctant to go. His mother then decides to give him a kiss on his palm, which is now his kissing hand. She tells him no matter where he goes her love will go with him and the kiss will never wash off, even when he washes his food. All he has to do is press his hand against his cheek and her love will rush to him.

After Ema's teacher read this to the class, she handed each of the students a little packet of pocket tissues with a note that read...

"I gave you a little wink and a smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with her for five
years now
And have been a loving guide.
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave her at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may
flow.
I'll love her as I would my own
And help her learn and grow.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more.
For I will lover her and take her in
When you leave her at my door."

Ema gave me a hug and I asked her if she was ready for school, she said..
Mom... you have to go.
I took that as a YES! LOL!!!
I think we're BOTH happy she's in kindergarten now, and it makes it easier knowing she is ready for it as much as I am! :)

Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself!!!

Makes me all teary. I love the book "the Kissing Hand." We read it to Princess M when we first saw her and told her no matter where she was she'd always have our kisses in her hand. I also read it to princess K many times as a child, who struggled (and struggles) with severe separation anxiety. You have inspired me to read it to her again.
